Yo.

Glad to hear you're doing well in school, Raura. :D Your professor sounds annoying though :/

I am having fun and damaging myself in studio classes! So far I've skinned all the knuckles on my left hand and torn my thumbnail carving a concrete sculpture. More injuries to follow. ^__^

Otherwise I feel sort of boring. Slightly stressed out, slightly freaked out. I don't really feel like hanging out with people anymore unless I have an anchor point to latch onto. :/ I've been reading for fun! Which is a huge change from last two years.

This summer I frequented the used bookstore and picked up an asston of fantasy/sci-fi books, and was also coerced into playing Magic: the Gathering which is kind of fun but I feel way out of my depth in terms of strategy and such. :/ I don't like games that make me feel stupid. Summer was ok. Weekends were best.

B.Feet and I went to a rummage sale, and it was fun. In my car I found that little piece to your game, but now I have no idea where it went. :(

I'm in an apartment. It's teeny, but Rachel and I are both small, so I think we fit ok.

I made cinnamon/sugar glazed peaches tonight :D the peaches were kind of underripe :/ but it tasted ok. I feel tired and should probably sleep. Tomorrow I have Art history and Sculpture. Considering the conditions of my hand I might swing by home depot tomorrow to look for protective gloves :( oh well. it's fun, and it's hard work, and I feel accomplished.

now I am tired. Tomorrow is going to be a full night of ceramics. Stuff due Thursday and I'm only half-done. :/ Slacking as usual. But it's all good. So, sleep time I think.

Good night!

Remember me?

Hey guys! I think we should work on posting here more often!
Okay?
Okay!

So how have you been? I've been great! I've actually been making it to every one of my classes! *gasp!* Yes, I know...but it's true! I do enjoy my classes this year, but I have to get good grades, at least a B in every class just about, to be able to come back next semester. With the way my classes are, I think that is a veeeeery easy goal.

So let's see...I'm taking Chemistry, 2 German courses, Chinese, and Philosophy.
Chemistry is fine. No homework, easy math.
Chinese is fun :) One of my friend's from another high school is in my class! I'm re-taking the Beginners' course, but that just means it should be an easy A!
German Literature is interesting, the teacher is good, and the class is fun. Subject matter is pretty simple, and the level of German is actually a little below mine. lol.
German Composition is very simple. I'm basically taking it to brush up on my grammar/vocabulary, and for an easy A :)

But Philosophy is different.....
I'm pretty sure I'll get an A though; the set-up of the class is fairly simple. We turn in daily journals, written during class about a question posed by a fellow student, then we discuss the question.
Well, that would be a fairly simple set-up if that's what actually happened in class.
Instead, the professor talks. Basically only the professor. He lets maybe 3 or 4 students state their opinions, but then always has to elaborate, or have his say, or mention what some famous philosopher would have to say on the subject. It's so annoying! I'm not one to talk much in class, but if the professor is going to comment on whatever I may say, I'm less likely to make a sound.

Anyway, I'm ranting a little bit, but that professor's teaching process bothers me ^_^;
Maybe I'll write a little note to him on my next daily journal...

Anywho,...How are your classes going? Any new happenings going on up at UE I should know about?

Oh and I might be heading up to good ole' Evansville in the beginning of December for the UE vs. UNC basketball game. (I could probably convince my dad to just get tickets for him, and let me hang out with y'all? Yes? Good plan?)

tl;dr? -- Hi. I'm good, how are you? School is going well and I'm doing great in all my classes. How is Evansville? I might be going there in Dec, so we must hang out!

I will not make a Katy Perry reference in my title.

Some of you may have heard of certain shenanigans on a certain Friday night a certain two weeks ago during a certain heavy snow. I, along with most of the people on my floor, was playing out in the snow (chillin' like a bro), trying to instigate a snowball fight and being manly and not using gloves. I was having no luck until, quite to my surprise, two possibly drunk men dressed up as Thing #1 and Thing #2 came out of fucking NOWHERE and started running around, pelting us all with snowballs. Eventually they just stayed in one spot, so I decided to grab the opportunity and begin the aforementioned shenanigans.
As they stood there screaming battle cries and being probably drunk, I simply walked up to them. when I was about ten feet away, Thing #1 screamed something at me about being crazy in shorts. So I screamed nothing in particular back at him. Then I looked at Thing #2 for a while, kissed him on the cheek, and came back to our group. They both took off running, and Theo and Tincher somehow got the idea to chase them. Eventually, Tincher slipped on the ice, but did so in a way that he tackled his Thing (NOT A EUPHEMISM). Theo must have seen this, because he decided to tackle his Thing as well. Well...he went a bit too hard. When he came back to us, there was quite the gash on his forehead. So now he's Harry Potter.
Also, I stuck my tongue to a flagpole. We concluded that we both now have epic scar stories :D

But since I'll be blogging more often, I might blog over here more.

But if yall wanna read my Transfer blog, just to find out how I'm doing here and whatnot, the link is lauras2020blog.blogspot.com

I know, creative name. But whatev, it's just for an annoying class xD

Conan's Last Tonight Show.

As you probably know, Friday was the last episode of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. It was very emotional for me, as well for many other Conan fans. Even if you're not a Conan fan, I encourage you to watch these clips from Friday's show, or maybe even the full episode on Hulu.

http://www.hulu.com/watch/122593/the-tonight-show-with-conan-obrien-conan-looks-back#s-p1-sr-i1

Watch the last segment of this. (This is the link to the full episode.)

Then immediately watch this. Jimmy Fallon pays an amazing tribute.

I laughed, I cried, I even laughed and cried at the same time. It was crazy. Conan continues to be a huge inspiration to me. (and he plays a mean guitar) You can call me a fangirl, obsessed, crazy, whatever, but watch these clips and I promise you'll be moved.

He also had a bit of advice. He said: "All I ask is one thing, and I’m asking this particularly of young people that watch. Please do not be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it's my least favorite quality. It doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody gets in life exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard, and you’re kind, amazing things will happen."

I cant wait until he returns to TV. I'm sure he will kick tons of ass.

P.S. If you're looking for something light and funny, watch this:

New beginnings...

Started classes at MTSU today. I think I'll do a lot better here than at UE. I just had my first class, Cultural Anthropology, and I think it'll be really fun and interesting.
The only thing I don't like about this school is that I have no idea where any of the buildings are. >_>
So now, I must wait in my dorm, waiting for Yi to come get me to show me where to go next.

And I hope tonight my neighbor doesn't have 20 friends over for a Beatles' song fest again. That was rather annoying last night.

He should just go to Africa...and stay there.

As some of you may know, my advisor goes about his advisorley duties about as well as a sack of shit. Two days before Thanksgiving break, he told me that I had not properly registered for classes (which was not entirely my fault), and never emailed me back until I emailed him a second and third time after break. Long story short, we worked out my schedule.

Or so I thought.

He put me into a nursing major chemistry course, neither of the prerequisites of which I had completed. This was to be my first chemistry course ever, and I there was no way I was going to pass it. I went to class once and already felt fucked.

Now, FINALLY, I have my schedule straightened out. I dropped chem and added Anthro 207 and Geog 230, and while my advisor did (however minimally) help me with this, I'll be dropping him soon as well, in hopes of switching to either Cirino or Bone. More updates as they come...
